First Things First: Purpose | Cheryl Fletcher
Monday Sep 28, 2020
Monday Sep 28, 2020
Welcome to Menlo Church. This weekend we continue a journey through the very first church in the book of Acts. Have you ever wondered, “How do I find my purpose in life?” In this week’s sermon we consider that God has a purpose for each of us. We explore the God-given and God-empowered purpose for his church and his followers. This is not a purpose accomplished by striving and performing but by living in our identity as children of God.
Join us in prayers for our community and church! Today we begin fasting and 90 days of prayer. For more information, to sign up for fasting, for a Zoom link to weekly prayer, and for a weekly prayer guide, go to our website: http://menlo.church/prayerandfasting

First Things First: Prayer | Cheryl Fletcher
Monday Sep 21, 2020
Monday Sep 21, 2020
We’re in a year of chaos and living under the weight of isolation, racial unrest, the pandemic, and ongoing weariness. How can the church be an expression of God’s heart of love, justice, mercy, and missional purpose in these times? Join us as we kick off a series seeking to answer those questions by taking a journey through the Book of Acts and looking at the very first church. In this first talk in the series, we will explore who God is and what role prayer played in the first church (hint: It’s not the only thing they did, but it is one of the first things—and they did it a lot!) What we put first determines how we work, parent, and handle our money and our time. Our priorities shape who we are and what we do. Join us as we explore the role of prayer in our modern day lives and church, looking through the lens of the past.
Join us in prayers for our community and church! Starting September 27 we begin fasting and 90 days of prayer. For more information, to sign up for fasting, for a Zoom link to weekly prayer, and for a weekly prayer guide, go to our website: http://menlo.church/prayerandfasting

We, the Church - OUT: Serving in the Church | Andy VomSteeg
Sunday Sep 06, 2020
Sunday Sep 06, 2020
What is your role in the church? In this talk, we explore how God wants everybody to play their part in the community, especially in the church. In our culture, people overwhelmingly are on a quest for autonomy, to be free to do what they want, when they want to. While this may seem like a noble desire, it is an empty destination. Fulfillment is not found in isolation, but is found when you are an integral and important part of what God is doing in the church. God promises that you will find your purpose in life and fulfillment in life when you find your role in the body of Christ. Do you want to be a part of what God is doing in the church? We want to hear from you! http://menlo.church/serveinthechurch - the Formstack will go to Taylor K and she will pass along to each campus Connections person. The form is very generic so this is a blanket "I want to serve" and it is our job to help them figure out where.

We discover the power of community and that God’s grace toward us helps us in practical ways.

Are you in a tough situation? Feeling lost, alone, or living in a storm? This week we explore how Jesus is more than enough, regardless of the situation you are in. We delve into how God invites us to participate with him in the work he is doing and when we do what only we can do—and trust God to do what only he can do—miracles happen. To explore this, we go through the Bible’s story of Jesus feeding five thousand.

This week we continue our series, “I Love You, But You’re Driving Me Nuts” and talk about the two main issues that trip us up in our relationships—“Saying or doing things we shouldn’t” and “NOT saying or doing things that we should.” If we are willing to examine them, each of these relationship issues can also be tools to reveal what is really in our heart.
