Monday Mar 08, 2021
Monday Mar 08, 2021
"Just a little bit more.” Those five short words often seem to sum up our culture and our endless pursuit of enough. Jesus, however, invites us to turn from this pursuit for more to a life of enough in him. In this talk, we will look at the practice of simplicity and ask how we can become people who first seek God’s kingdom while letting go of things that distract us from it.
Look at your time and possessions and ask, “What can I remove today in order to create more space for the things Jesus values?”

What's Your Legacy Becoming? | John Crosby
Monday Feb 15, 2021
Monday Feb 15, 2021
Generosity is one characteristic of a faith-filled life, but it is often lost in our focus to accumulate. This week we explore how Job's tough life shows how generosity is spiritually formative regardless of our circumstances.
Think about one area of your life where you feel as though your generosity legacy is strongest, as well as an area of your life (giving, service, expressing kindness, passion for justice) where you would not currently be described as generous. What's one small step you can take to establish a legacy in the area where you can grow in generosity?

Globally, nationally, and in our own homes it feels like we are experiencing more and more conflict. As Jesus-followers, how do we balance grace and truth in our everyday lives? How do we respond when we've been wounded by another? In this sermon we explore how to respond to conflict and pay attention to what God wants to teach us in the pain of disagreement.
Identify a broken relationship in your world (think of someone you'd probably avoid) and think about how might you bless them, even if you stay disconnected? Consider what part of this relationship is your responsibility (as Paul says, "as far as it is up to you," so it's not all up to you).

This week pursue community with people who desire change and are pursuing Jesus. Need some direction? At Menlo you can join a Life Groups or ask to have one of our trained Stephen Ministers walk beside you in a time of pain.

Monday Jan 18, 2021
You can be attractive, successful, wealthy, and smart, but if you have unhealthy, broken relationships in your life, life will feel more like a drain and a mess. But what exactly do healthy relationships look like? Contrary to what many people think, they are not defined by a lack of conflict. Rather, they are defined by the ability to manage, address, and resolve conflict. In this talk, we explore how to manage, address, and resolve conflict so that you can live a life of happiness and joy.
This week, be intentional about conflict and choose to have "a good fight" in a relationship that you would like to have deeper connection and greater intimacy.

We can respond by getting bitter and cynical or we can respond by releasing our expectations, and embracing how God wants to form us in the unexpected moments.
Let 2021 be the year you release your expectations and expect the unexpected, believing that God wants to use these twists and turns of life to make you stronger and more resilient.
