We, the Church - OUT: Serving in the Church | Andy VomSteeg

Sunday Sep 06, 2020
What is your role in the church? In this talk, we explore how God wants everybody to play their part in the community, especially in the church. In our culture, people overwhelmingly are on a quest for autonomy, to be free to do what they want, when they want to. While this may seem like a noble desire, it is an empty destination. Fulfillment is not found in isolation, but is found when you are an integral and important part of what God is doing in the church. God promises that you will find your purpose in life and fulfillment in life when you find your role in the body of Christ. Do you want to be a part of what God is doing in the church? We want to hear from you! http://menlo.church/serveinthechurch - the Formstack will go to Taylor K and she will pass along to each campus Connections person. The form is very generic so this is a blanket "I want to serve" and it is our job to help them figure out where.

We can feel disconnected, lonely, and misunderstood in the best of times, let alone during shelter in place. How do we lean into community when we are weary, zoom-fatigued, isolated and wearing masks? In this message we discover how communing with Jesus changes how and why we commune with others. We discover the power of community and that God’s grace toward us helps us in practical ways.
If you feel disconnected or lonely, we have a 7-day devotional made just for you. Go to our website to find a daily guide to help you discover how communing with Jesus changes how and why we connect with others: http://menlo.church/Jesus (this is also the study guide for this sermon)

We delve into how God invites us to participate with him in the work he is doing and when we do what only we can do—and trust God to do what only he can do—miracles happen. To explore this, we go through the Bible’s story of Jesus feeding five thousand.
