Globally, nationally, and in our own homes it feels like we are experiencing more and more conflict. As Jesus-followers, how do we balance grace and truth in our everyday lives? How do we respond when we've been wounded by another? In this sermon we explore how to respond to conflict and pay attention to what God wants to teach us in the pain of disagreement.
Identify a broken relationship in your world (think of someone you'd probably avoid) and think about how might you bless them, even if you stay disconnected? Consider what part of this relationship is your responsibility (as Paul says, "as far as it is up to you," so it's not all up to you).

This week pursue community with people who desire change and are pursuing Jesus. Need some direction? At Menlo you can join a Life Groups or ask to have one of our trained Stephen Ministers walk beside you in a time of pain.

Monday Jan 18, 2021
Monday Jan 18, 2021
You can be attractive, successful, wealthy, and smart, but if you have unhealthy, broken relationships in your life, life will feel more like a drain and a mess. But what exactly do healthy relationships look like? Contrary to what many people think, they are not defined by a lack of conflict. Rather, they are defined by the ability to manage, address, and resolve conflict. In this talk, we explore how to manage, address, and resolve conflict so that you can live a life of happiness and joy.
This week, be intentional about conflict and choose to have "a good fight" in a relationship that you would like to have deeper connection and greater intimacy.

This Isn't What I Asked For: God of the Unexpected | Adam Hendrix
Monday Jan 11, 2021
Monday Jan 11, 2021
Life is full of unexpected circumstances and events. Job loss, breakups, betrayals, and pandemics. These twists and turns of life are not what we ask for or expect. How we respond to these moments is the key to a flourishing and healthy life. We can respond by getting bitter and cynical or we can respond by releasing our expectations, and embracing how God wants to form us in the unexpected moments.
Let 2021 be the year you release your expectations and expect the unexpected, believing that God wants to use these twists and turns of life to make you stronger and more resilient.

Monday Dec 21, 2020
Monday Dec 21, 2020
We often confuse happiness with joy. Happiness is situational, and dependent on outside circumstances. Joy, on the other hand, is a deep and pervasive sense of well-being and care, regardless of the circumstances. In this sermon, we explore where joy comes from and how we can have joy in any season because God is with me.
Practice being present with God, realizing that this moment is a gift, that God is near, and his goodness and love follow you.
