We can find ways to see the ministry that he conducted as a part of this important plan of God for His people, but we would be wise to learn from the gaps in his personal character and how they reveal the same potential in each one of us.

Gruesome tales of violence may appear more fitting for Hollywood or history books, yet we encounter numerous accounts of war and loss in the Hebrew Scriptures. Throughout Israel's history, it seems God has employed the tool of war for a greater purpose. The challenge lies in reconciling a God who operates in such a manner for millennia with the message of love conveyed through the ministry and teachings of Jesus.
