Baptism Sunday: Promise of a New Beginning | Phil EuBank
Sunday May 07, 2023
Sunday May 07, 2023
When an individual decides to follow Jesus, their life experiences a tangible transformation over time, and this shift is marked by a distinctive trait that has endured throughout the history of the church. Traditionally, entire families would be baptized to signify God's redeeming work in their salvation, and newly converted individuals would follow suit by getting baptized. In contemporary times, baptism serves as a reminder of our rebirth in Him, not as a sign of spiritual maturity but rather as an assurance of our eternal security. It is an outward expression of an internal reality.
Next week, we launch a brand-new series called Seasons where we will unpack the reality that God is with us through EVERY season - times of great joy AND deep sorrow. If you wrestle with anxiety, depression, or are in need of peace and joy, this series will help you experience God in whatever season you’re in. Go to http://menlo.church/seasons where we have additional study guides and spiritual formation practice resources to help you do life with Jesus throughout the week, not just on Sundays.

The gospel is the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ, and as Christians, we are called to share this message with others. In this sermon, we will explore why we should and how we can share the hope of the gospel in the Bay Area. Looking at the life and words of Jesus, we will discuss how to build relationships with people who don't know Jesus, how to share our own stories of faith, and how to invite people into our lives and point them to the hope of Jesus.
